Google’s ‘Open YOLO’ Project Aims To Make Managing Passwords Easier

Google is partnering with password management service Dashline to  build what they are calling “Open Yolo”, a new API that will allow Android apps to securely access your login credentials to sign you in without any fuss.

Of course you are wondering about its name. Here, YOLO stands for “You Only Login Once”. The project is open-source, which means anyone can scrutinise the code used to build it and find bugs, or even contribute and improve the API.

This project is the first big step towards making security simple and accessible for every user, on every device. In future, they are planning this open API going beyond just Android devices.
