The Chairman of the Central Ruet-e-Hilal Committee, Maulana Abdul Khabir, will lead a meeting tomorrow (Wednesday) in Peshawar to sight the crescent of Ramadan. The meeting will be held at the Auqaf Department building and is scheduled for March 22, 2023 corresponding to Shaban 29.
Zonal and district Ruet-e-Hilal committees will also convene in their respective offices, while the committee for Islamabad will meet at the Ministry of Religious Affairs building.
According to an official from the Ministry of Religious Affairs, the purpose of holding the meeting in Peshawar is to foster agreement on the sighting of the crescent of Ramadan on the same day.
The committee will receive evidence and invite members from the private Ruet committee to record their statements. To ensure consistency, the committee will question those who provide evidence.
The official stated that the goal is to establish consensus on this matter so that the holy month of Ramadan is observed on the same day throughout the country.
