All Boards Exam Cancelled Due To Coronavirus, Shafqat Mahmood

ISLAMABAD: The government has decided to close educational institutions across the country till July 15 & all Boards exam Cancelled due to corona virus.

A meeting of the National Coordinating Committee chaired by Prime Minister Imran Khan has also decided to cancel the examinations of all the boards.

After the meeting, Education Minister Shafqat Mahmood said that earlier it was decided to open educational institutions on May 13 and to conduct examinations in June and July, but such decisions have to be taken as the situation in Corona has deteriorated further.

The Education Minister said that promotion in the next class would be based on past results and performance. It may be recalled that the government had decided to close all educational institutions on March 26.

Shafqat Mahmood said that holidays should be considered as summer vacations. If the corona virus problem is resolved, educational institutions will reopen in June.

The meeting of the National Coordinating Committee has also decided to open the lockdown from May 9. However, no agreement could be reached between the provinces and the federation on transport.

Federal Minister Asad Omar said that the shops would remain open from dawn to 5 pm but it was decided to keep the shops closed at night. All small businesses and shops will be closed 2 days a week.

The meeting of the National Coordinating Committee has decided to open ceramics, steel, cables and paints industries. It has been decided to open shops in the streets and villages of the city.

Addressing the nation after the meeting, the Prime Minister said that the effects of the virus could be overcome only with caution. It is the individual responsibility of the people to take care of themselves. To get out of difficult times, you have to be a responsible citizen.
