Gwadar International Airport Starting Night Landing Operation

Gwadar International Airport’s Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) started doing night landings. Except for military aircraft and those controlled by the Balochistan government, overnight parking at Gwadar airport would not be authorised, according to CAA instructions sent to airlines and aviation businesses.

Gwadar International Airport, the biggest airport in the nation, is located at Gurandani, 26 kilometres to the east of Gwadar City.

The airport in Balochistan is the first to permit night landings. The airport serves the port city and is accessible to both domestic and international aircraft.

The $230 million project was given finance by the Chinese government as a component of the massive China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) initiative.

The CPEC website claims that the development of the airport produced 3,000 new jobs. On March 29, 2019, the airport’s groundbreaking ceremony was presided over by Imran Khan, who was the prime minister at the time.

Construction on the project began on October 31, 2019, under the direction of the Aviation Division. March 2023 was listed as the anticipated completion date on the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor webpage.

According to the website, the much awaited New Gwadar International Airport (NGIA) is being built, together with any necessary supporting infrastructure, to hold a variety of aircraft, including the ATR 72, Airbus A-300, Boeing B-737, and Boeing B-747, for both domestic and international operations.
