Importance of 27th Safar Islamic Month

27 Safar, Migration (Hijrah) from Makah to Madinah by Holy Prophet Muhammad (SAW)

In the history of Islam we can never overlook the 27 Safar, Migration (Hijrah) from Makah to Madinah by Holy Prophet Muhammad (SAW). Holy Prophet (PBUH) has covered this journey all along with the company of his followers between 21st June and 2nd July 622 CE.

In June 622 it was revealed that Holy Prophet will going to be assassinated in view of while Muhammad secretly escaped from Mecca along with Abu Bakar. They moved towards the city of Yathrib, 320 kilometres (200 mi) north of Mecca, in several steps. Now Yathrib is known with the name of Madinah. In the Islamic Calendar the very first year of the Hijra was finished by Umar in 638 or 17 AH.

When Holy Prophet reached Mecca he met with six more people of the Khazrai Tribe from Medina. Holy Prophet made him move towards the Islam by reciting the different portions of Quran.

All six of them embraced Islam and even five of them even bring about seven other people as well for moving into the blessed religion of Islam. All of them took hold over the Muhammad’s hand and promising to accept him as a prophet and to worship none but one God, and to renounce certain sins like theft, adultery, murder and the like. This was come to known as the “First Pledge of al-Aqaba”.

During the pilgrim of 622 almost 75 people of Khazrai Tribe converted into Islam and assured that they will going to give away full support to the Muhammad in view with the regard of protection of Islam. This was acme to known as the “Second Pledge of al-`Aqaba”. We hope that through this article all the Muslim must have gained enough knowledge about the 27 Safar, Migration (Hijrah) from Makah to Madinah by Holy Prophet Muhammad (SAW).
